Welcome

PixelNotes is an online note-taking application that aims to bring class notes into the 21st century. PixelNotes is one part notebook, one part Wikipedia, and one part search engine. This system uses new technology to help organize and improve the note-taking experience.

Why PixelNotes?

It's crunch time before a test and you are reviewing your notes. A lot of the content is hazy — it has been nearly a semester since going over some of these things. Reading over the key events of the Cold War, you cannot remember what the Warsaw Pact was. With normal notes this could mark the start of a several minute search through a messy spiral-bound. What if the search instead consisted of clicking on the word in your notes and being instantly connected to other relevant notes, online encyclopedia entries, maps, and other resources?

Your teacher mentions a few key items that will be on tomorrow's quiz. While studying you realize that these tidbits are scattered randomly through your notebook. Wouldn't it be nice to have a fully-featured search engine built in?

PixelNotes can take care of both of these needs. Whether you want Wikipedia-style interarticle links; an integrated, personal search engine; or respite from bad handwriting, PixelNotes has the technology. Computers are here to help us. We don't have flying cars or jet packs, so shouldn't we at least have organized notes?

Where do I start?

Using PixelNotes is pretty simple. First hop over to the registration page and create your account. Then create your first note.

Other things

PixelNotes is still very much a work in progress and new features are coming online all the time. If you find any bugs or have any questions contact the Core Developer. If you are interested in following the development or learning about features in development, you can check out our blog.
